Conference venue: VŠBM in Košice, No 1 Košťova Street, Košice, Slovak Republic
CONFERENCE OBJECTIVE AND SECTIONS
With the realization of the project we are trying to accomplish and tie up to the annual organized Conference „Secure Slovakia and European union”. This year, we have decided to widen the contribution and outcomes of the Conference by expanding the agenda of the Conference from the “European” to “Euro-Atlantic” agenda. This has been the decision that was necessary to make considering the fact, that contemporary security challenges Europe and its partners are facing, can be effectively solved only within the common and stable Euro-Atlantic security environment composed of equivalent national partners, willing to help each other through international security cooperation instruments.
Conference topics will be divided into multiple areas, aimed at the issue of perception of different security areas, different internal security threats which could have wider impact on the Euro-Atlantic region. Discussion will cover different approaches to particular security threats and their perceptions and solutions, different security systems and their management in the Slovak Republic, but also within the wider Euro-Atlantic region and also Eastern Europe. The focus of the Conference is to help Ukraine strengthen its institutions in the field of security sector reform, strategic communication and international security integration.
The goal of the Conference will be dedicated to relations between Ukraine and Euro-Atlantic states and institutions, while discussion will be devoted to experiences from the impact of NATO integration on security sector, focused on strengthening of the functional forum and tying up further cooperation among institutions operating in the Euro-Atlantic sphere.
